Converting a tennis court into padel courts

Up to three padel courts fit on the footprint of one tennis court – and a club people talk about again.

Sports facilities are our craft – long before the first padel court.

For over 30 years we've been building sports facilities, mobile and permanent. From major international spectator events to a venue for a small town. That experience goes into every padel project we take on.

The courts are there. The players are getting fewer.

Many tennis clubs know the picture: well-kept courts sitting empty during the week, an ageing membership curve, and fees that barely carry the site any more. Meanwhile a racket sport is booming next door that attracts exactly the people the club is missing.

The same space, many times the play.

A padel court needs only a fraction of a tennis court – up to three courts fit on one tennis footprint. Padel can be learned in an hour, attracts every age group and is played and paid for by four people an hour. The quiet corner of the site becomes the place where the club grows.

What your courts could become

From a cautious first step to a full relaunch:

01

Repurpose one court

The least-booked tennis court becomes the most-booked space on the site.

02

Padel as an addition

Tennis stays, padel comes in – new members without losing what's there.

03

Trial before conversion

With a mobile basement, try out first how padel goes down with your members.

04

Rethink the whole site

The full relaunch: courts, catering, booking – the club as a modern racket sports venue.

This is for you if …

  • Your tennis courts sit half empty during the week.
  • The club wants to attract new and younger members.
  • You're looking for additional income for the club.
  • You want to trial it before you build.

What the club gets from us:

Court assessment

Which court is suitable – subsurface, position, noise and permits.

Concept for the club

Numbers and a plan the committee and members can decide on.

Conversion from one source

From removing the tennis court to a playable padel court.

Operation & community

Booking, coaching and events so the courts carry themselves.

From enquiry to venue

01

Court check

We assess the space, subsurface and planning situation of your site.

02

Concept for the club

Conversion plan, costs and economics – as a basis for the members' meeting.

03

Conversion

From tennis court to playable padel court, coordinated from one source.

04

Opening & operation

Booking system, coaching and events – so the courts are full from day one.

Four people play on a tennis court. On the same space, padel takes up to twelve.

We know how to turn space into utilisation.

Our own venues show how quickly padel reaches a neighbourhood – and how courts fill when booking, pricing and community are right. That's exactly the knowledge we bring to your club.

Converting tennis courts to padel frequently asked questions

Still got a question? Write to us directly.

How many padel courts fit on a tennis court?

Depending on the layout and run-off areas, up to three padel courts fit on the footprint of one tennis court. The court check establishes what's realistic for you.

Does the conversion need a permit?

Often yes – among other things for noise protection and structural change. We check the planning situation early and support the process.

What does converting a tennis court cost?

That depends on the subsurface, the number of courts and the fit-out. After the court check you get a concrete concept with costs – including financing and funding options.

Will we lose tennis members over it?

Experience shows the opposite: padel attracts new members and brings the site to life – tennis and padel complement each other rather than cannibalising.
