Use the back wall: a high lob out of defence buys you time to get back to the net. Just make sure you hit the ball before its second bounce.
A reliable serve beats a risky winner. The aim is to build pressure – vary length and direction rather than just hitting hard.
“Mine”, “yours”, clear calls – otherwise you'll collide or leave balls. Short calls are enough.
A few minutes of volleys and wall play – then you're in it from the first rally and you spare your shoulders.
